The process that I went through to choose my song was somewhat difficult but very simple at the same time. When I was first challenged to pick only one song that I would have to live with if I was stuck on a desert island, I immediately started racking my brain for ideas. A lot of songs that I have enjoyed starting running through my head. With so many good songs that I loved it was extremely difficult to decide on one. So after thinking about dozens of song and realizing that I was unable to choose one I gave up thinking about it. Then one day when I was at the gym I heard “Simple Man” over the radio and it brought back a lot of memories. It was then that I decided on my song. It was as simple as hearing it once on the radio.
Now that the semester is over I would without a doubt change my song. When I chose my song it was somewhat on impulse. I did not completely think through the song and it would turn out to make things a lot more difficult in the long run. If I were to choose another song I would choose one that had better lyrics and meant a little more to me. Also, I would choose a band that was a little more interesting to me because I feel like I would be more excited to do the work necessary. If I were to choose a different song it might have been by somebody like Tupac or the Red hot Chili Peppers.
The essay that I liked the best was the analysis essay. I felt like after breaking down and taking a deeper look at the lyrics I noticed a lot. It was fun to analyze and speculate about what the singer meant by different lyrics. I also enjoyed being able to come up with my own idea about the song and use evidence I found in the song to support my ideas.
A good piece of advice for students just starting EN101 would be to choose you’re DIS carefully and to stay on top of the work. These are things that I wish that I had done at the beginning of the semester so that I would not have to worry now. The DIS is very important because it is what the rest of the semester is based one. If you are not excited or interested in your DIS then you will not enjoy the semester but if the song you choose is one that really intrigues you then the semester will go by easy. Always staying on top of the work is important for obvious reasons. You know that nobody likes to be playing catch up at the end of the semester.
“Praise You in This Storm” by Casting Crowns
I decided which song to pick as my DIS by first looking over all of the songs that mean something to me. When I was first told to write down a song that I would be listening to for the rest of my life, I knew I had some thinking to do. I didn’t want it to be sad and depressing, because being deserted is depressing enough. Also, I didn’t want the song to be too happy and enthusiastic, because I knew I would get annoyed with it easily. After jotting down some songs, and really looking over them, I decided on “Praise You in This Storm” by Casting Crowns. I chose this song because the lyrics in it talk about keeping faith and hope in your times of struggle. It goes into the feeling of abandonment, and struggling to make it through rough times. I figured that I would probably be struggling a lot while on an island by myself, so I would need something to keep me going.
Although the semester is over, I’m still happy that I chose this song as my DIS. I say this because I learned a lot about the artist and the reason behind the song. It really opened my eyes to what I’m hearing while I’m listening to the song. Before, it was a song on the radio that meant a lot to me because it reminded me of my mom. Now that I know who the song was written for (Erin Browning) and what the song represents, I hear the song and the lyrics mean a lot more. The words take me to a whole other place in my life where I can’t help but smile and be thankful for everything that I have. They say that we shouldn’t fret over the struggles we go through in life, because God has already overcome those struggles. I know that everything I do, no matter how hard it is to get through, I’m not alone in my walk, and someone has already been there.
I enjoyed writing the analysis essay the most because that’s when I really got to find out about my song. I always knew the basics of what the song was about, but what I learned to be true about the song was a lot more intense than what I had thought. Each line of the song told a story about struggling, and how we should still praised God though everything. Breaking down the song made it a lot easier to understand. Everyone goes through struggles in their life, and it’s hard to know what’s going to happen. Learning about this song made me feel like I wasn’t a bad person for doubting God, and that I’m not the only one who does it. I’m not expected to be perfect, and God understands when I’m at my weakest point. All that He wants to do is bring me out of my pit; I just have to allow Him to do it. After I finished this essay is when I really started hearing the song how it was made to be heard; which in turn made me enjoy it more.
One piece of advice that I could give to a student just starting EN101 is to not be too critical on your rough draft. I learned that if I focused on a solid outline first, the words would come to me for the rough draft. It’s a “rough” draft for a reason.

"Kissed by a Rose" by Seal
I decided what song to pick as my DIS by first carefully thinking about what kind of mood I would want to be in for the rest of my life. Personally, I believe that every song you hear influences your mood or your mood may influence what kind of song you want to listen to. To add to that, songs can also make you remember certain moments in your life and bring back a sense of nostalgia. After taking this all into consideration I thought long and hard and came up with “Kissed by a Rose” by Seal. This song particularly makes me feel calm, but the memory that it brings to mind fills me with joy. Every time I hear or have heard this song it reminds me of my childhood that was spent mostly with my cousins. It brings back memories of games played, secrets shared, and bonds that were made indestructible.
Now that the semester is over, I still stand by my choice. Even though it may not have been the best song to choose when writing an analysis paper or a documented essay. I stick by my decision because this song will always remind me of my family and that is something that I would always want to remember if I had to spend the rest of my life trapped on a desert island.
I liked the Narrative essay best out of all the essays. Even though I got a “B” on this essay and an “A” on the Analysis essay, I still liked the narrative essay more because it gave me the chance to tell a story. I got the chance to tell my peers about how I first encountered my DIS and all the memories that I hadn’t thought about until that assignment.
Here’s a good piece of advice for future students that are taking EN101 or any other writing class, ask questions! There are no dumb questions and whoever your professor is, I am sure, will be more than willing to help you (that’s what he/she is there for). Also, make time for all assignments. The worst thing you could do in a writing course is put your paper or assignment off until the last minute. If you have a question that is keeping you from moving on with your assignment, use all methods provided to get in contact with your professor or someone else from the class. If you still can’t get an answer, try to get help from someone in the writing center. Use all the resources you have been given in order to be successful!
"Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence
I decided to pick Evanescence’s Bring me to Life as my DIS because it was a song that I really liked but did not know too much about. My feelings about this song were strong though and I knew that it was one that I would not have trouble writing about again and again. Also, thinking in terms of actually being stuck on a desert island, I knew that3 it would take me a while to actually get tired of hearing this song.
Now that the semester is over I stand by my choice 100%. It actually turned out to be a far more complicated choice than I thought it would be but that also made it a great choice. Knowing what I know now I would definitely not change my song choice because Bring Me to Life is a really complex song that I got some good writing out of.
I liked the Cause/effect essay the best because it allowed me to open up about some things that I was never able to open up about in the past. It forced me to look into myself for the true reasons behind why I like this song so much. I feel that being able to be honest and open up myself for others to see was really important.
My best advice to other students coming into EN101 would be to always stay true to yourself in your writing. I would say that because as long as what you write comes from the inside, the paper will be great. Sentence structure and proper grammar are things that you can learn; however, creativity and passion must come from within.
Out of all the songs in my extensive iTunes library, out of all the songs on the radio, I choose “Lucky Lucky” by Lucky Twice for one simple enough reason. It was this song out of all of the others that really had an effect on me. Just something about it made me inexplicitly happy. I felt that a song that could insight this much emotion in me was a song that I could really write about and a song that I would actually enjoy writing about.
Now that the semester is over and all of the topics are known to me I probably would go back and rethink my choice for the DIS. It’s not that this is a bad song, on the contrary it is one of my favorite, it’s just that this song has very repetitive lyrics and is not a particularly deep song. So writing about it was a bit of a hassle, I had to continually stretch to conclusions and reach for meanings that frankly just were not there. Lucky Lucky by Lucky Twice is one of the great songs it is however not a song that is very conducive to essay writing.
Out of all the essays this semester my favorite would have to be the narrative. It was the narrative essay which I had the most fun writing. Compare and contrast I have written a thousand times before, analysis just doesn’t sit very well with this nonsense song, cause and effect was one of the essay types that I just did not understand very well and a documented essay I never really cared for. It was with the narrative which I had the most unique experience writing and I actually enjoyed sharing my story with others.
EN101 is a beginning level course but do NOT get caught up in that mentality. Just because this is a 101 class does not mean that it can be neglected and put off. Professor Difabio is a great teacher and being such actually makes you earn your grade. Through your writing she can tell the amount of effort put into each of the essays and will not hesitate to call you on it. I cannot stress it enough that you must actually try to do well in EN101 or you will suffer for it.
Ally Babay
She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5
I decided to pick She Will Be loved by Maroon 5 as my Deserted Island Song because I could never get tired of the melody. Every time I hear this song, it gives me mixed emotions, happiness or sadness or just plain giddy. I didn’t really give the song too much thought, The week before school started and up to when we had the DIS assignment I have been listening to Maroon 5 non-stop. My first choice was Sunday Morning because I thought it has all the five senses and I could easily write about that. But then when I listened to She Will Be Loved again I thought that I had to have that song as my DIS. I thought I could easily write about this song, since I could greatly relate to it.
I stand firmly by my choice. Although any song from Maroon 5 was a great candidate I thought She will Be loved would be the best one. The only thing that I didn’t like about the song was the stories behind what inspired the song were too hard to find anywhere else, but I wouldn’t change my song even if I was given a chance.
The essay that I liked writing the best is compare and contrast, when I had to compare "She Will be Loved" with "Beautiful Disaster" because it gave me a chance to compare the song to another beautiful song. I was given a chance to prove that no matter how different two songs are from each other, different genre and different artists the motive behind most songs ever created was life or love (which ever).
A piece of advice I would give to students that are starting EN101 is to give their selves more time to work on the paper and not do it the last minute. A piece of advice that I should also take for myself. Also when writing don’t let any distractions affect them, grammatical errors, punctuations or anything, just keep writing. That’s what the peer editing is for.
I decided to pick “the Raindrops” by Stunt as my DIS song because this song is very close to my heart. When I pictured myself on a deserted island alone, with the option of having one song to listen to for the rest of my life this song popped up in my head first. It brings a sea of memories back. Whether it reminds me of something sad or something joyful I experienced, it makes my past come alive. Somehow I can always tie this song to my life, no matter what I am going through. First time I heard this song was when I had my first kiss with my very first boyfriend and ever since then this song’s been on top of my charts. With that said, I picked this song because I wanted to have something that would remind me of past and all the beautiful or sad moments I’ve shared throughout my life.
Now that the semester is over, I do and do not stand by my choice because throughout the semester I discovered many things about my DIS that I didn’t know before, and took me by surprise. I do stand by my choice because I think the song I picked is a great one, and it’s also very sentimental to me. “The Raindrops” is a perfect song that I can relate to from every different stage of my life. However, I do not stand by my choice in that aspect that I had a very difficult time finding information about this song online, since the song was European, a lot of sites were in a foreign language that I couldn’t understand so I had a tough time trying to find credible sites that I could actually comprehend.
My favorite essay throughout the semester would have to be cause/effect essay. This was a challenge for me at first because I have never written an essay like this before, however I thought it was interesting, and I found it rather fun because I was writing about something I was knowledgeable of, my life. I thought it was a creative way of telling an episode of your life by analyzing everything from the beginning to the end, with cause and effect.
My advice to all the future EN101 students would be to really think about what song they’re going to pick for their DIS. Also keeping up with the weekly email groups is a must. Overall they have nothing to worry about because if they do their work , they’ll succeed at the end of the semester.

Praise You in this Storm by Casting Crowns
I decided what song to choose as my DIS by considering what song has helped me get through difficult times in the past. If I were to be stranded on a desert island I would need a song that would encourage me and help me keep my faith, no matter what happened. The song, Praise You in this Storm, by Casting Crowns brought me through my husband’s deployment, and I knew that if it helped me get through that experience, I could depend on it if my life was weathering other rainy circumstances.
Now, that the semester is over, overall I stand by my decision to choose Praise You in this Storm as my DIS. Through the course of this class, if I heard the song on the radio I would change it, because it seemed school was invading my personal relationship with the song. The song seemed redundant, but when I am struggling with life’s issues, I still would turn to the song.
The essay that I liked the best was the narrative of my first experience with the song. I liked that essay the most because it took me back to that time in my life and I felt that my personal experience was easy to write about. It also helped me to reaffirm my decision to choose the song as my DIS by remembering how it changed my life.
To other students starting EN101, I would like to say that if you have to choose a DIS, choose a song that is very important to you and that you will not get sick of. Writing papers on your favorite song is interesting, but over time the song might start to drive you crazy because you are taking something you like and turning it into a job. But, if you do start getting sick of your song, just take a break from listening to it and when you come back to it, you will remember exactly why you liked it in the first place.
“Morning Has Broken” by Cat Stevens
When presented with the task of finding a song that I would be grateful for having while stranded on a desert island I searched for one that filled many points. For one I thought it should be meaningful and inspiring because if you are stuck on an island all by yourself despair would not take long in kicking in. Therefore, the song needed to provide hope. Since it was for an English class and the professor clearly asked us to pick a song that would provide for writing material, I knew that a Cat Stevens song was a good choice. Since Cat Stevens has lead a meaningful and productive life and his songs have melody and are open to many forms of interpretation I believed I would easily find a semester worth of writing in one of his songs. Lastly if I had to write about a song throughout an entire semester I thought it would be a good idea to choose a song and songwriter I liked and would not mind learning more about.
After four essays and lots of online research I am very happy about my song of choice. The more I found out about the song’s history listened to it over and over again the more I liked it. There were many things I learned about the song which made the tasks more engaging for me and I did not easily grow bored of listening to it.
The essay I had most fun writing was the cause and effect essay. At first I tried to kind of stick to the question asked and I had some trouble writing it when I loosened the question up a little and stuck to my experiences it was fun to write and the words just started to flow. I did not like the documented essay, I am more of a creative person and sticking to facts makes writing difficult.
The best advice I can give to someone starting EN101 is not to leave anything for last minute and to pick a song that is not just a new fad, but something that has some sort of real meaning.

Song: “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor
I decided what song I would choose as my DIS by attempting to imagine myself on an actual dessert Island and seeing what kind of song would benefit me the most. I also kept in mind that I had to write several essays on this one song so I wanted to make sure I was able to write on it. First I came up with songs that I liked and checked to see if I would be able to write about them and if they would be best for my stay on the Desert Island. After looking through countless songs I didn’t find any that I was willing to write about. Eventually I asked a friend to help me come up with a possible song for this assignment and I wrote down all his suggestions. As I was looking through the songs later I came across the song “Remember the Name” and thought it would be perfect as my Desert Island song.
Now that the semester is over, I still stand by my choice because I was able to write a lot about this song and I still believe it would make a good song if I was stuck on that island. Of course it could be better though, I think it would be much more helpful if it had more meaningful lyrics so that I can have more to write about. I would change this song if I found another song that I can enjoy just as much and have more meaning to it. I think the thing that hurt me the most in writing my essay is not having too much to write about regarding the lyrics. Other than that I think this song is great for a desert island song.
I think I liked the documented essay the most even though it required the most work. The reason I liked this essay is because I learned a lot from it. I was actually interested in what I learned and it changes the way I see the song in some ways. I thought it was interesting to see how Mike Shinoda made this song almost completely on his own and that the song was a reflection of him.
I suggest that any new student taking EN101 should make a list of possible songs for their email posts at the beginning of the semester and chose a different song each time. I did this and I thought it saved me the trouble of constantly thinking of a new song.
Grecia Sandoval
"Superwoman" by Alicia Keys
I decided to pick my song as my DIS because Alicia Keys is one of my favorite singers of all time. At first when I was given the assignment I really had no idea what song to pick because I don’t have a favorite song, however I wanted to pick a song that I could relate to. Since I was told to pick a good song because I was going to be writing about it throughout the semester, I wanted to pick a song that would be meaningful and that not only I but others could relate to as well.
Now that the semester is over I do stand by my choice. I wouldn’t change the song knowing what I know now because it was a popular song (which kept writing the essays interesting) and it was meaningful to me. Also because I’m not the type to be a hard core fan, but choosing this song gave me an opportunity to learn more about Alicia Keys. The only thing that I believe would have made the essays easier was that I wish the lyrics would have been longer.
The essay I liked the best was the analysis essay. The reason why I liked this essay was because I got to break down the meaning of the song and express what the lyrics meant to me, and how I took it. I also feel as though the analysis essay was a little freer because we didn’t exactly have a certain question or topic to write about the song so I could really express why I chose it and what about the song got me.
A good piece of advice I would give to other students just starting En101 would be to take their time in the papers they write. Also to plan some time to write it so that it would be done in time to peer edit in class. I would also say that they should be careful in the song they pick, to pick a meaningful song to keep the assignments interesting.

Doomsday clock by smashing pumpkins
Share your journey
The reason I decided to choose doomsday clock as my dis is because it had a deep impact on my way of thought after I heard it. I wanted to choose a song that would speak out against global injustices and the traditional way we handle problems while having a catchy melody and an upbeat tempo to it. Doomsday clock sounded like the perfect song to choose as my dis because its message was to not forget to live your life even if your sourronded by danger and fear constantly whats the point in trying to survive if you can’t live?. Along with a powerful message came a powerful tune the drums roared as the guitars wailed giving a sensation of chaos while sounding nsync with each other the beat made me want to move and do something for myself.
Now that the semester is over I still stand by my songs choice because by writing the five different essays I saw the song’s lyrics through different points of views. In our first paragraph we discussed how we first came across our dis which made us dissect what parts of the songs caught our ear and what about it made it meaningful. In our compare and contrast essay we used two songs and stood them side by side and pointed out what made these song similar and different from each other. Our third papers assignment was to analyze our dis in doomsday clock I came to understand the whole song completely and why and how they made references to pop culture and what they meant by making the reference. The analysis paper gave my song a deeper meaning which made the song more interesting because I understood every line of it.
The essay I enjoyed the most was the analysis essay because through analyzing the song found a deeper meaning to the words and learned more about the band. For example I thought doomsday clock was just a song spoke out against the government but after my research was done I figured that they also spoke out against the people who let the fear the media broadcasted run their lives. By doing research on this song I found out fun facts about the band along the way for example Billy Corgan the lead singer of smashing pumpkins was good friends and rivals with Kurt Cobain the lead singer of nirvana. I enjoy the analysis paper the most because over all I gained better understanding of not only the song but also the band.
The best piece of advice I could give future en101 students would be when you choose your desert island song choose a song that has a message. The message has to be about something your passionate about and can argue. it can be a message of love or overcoming an obstacle in your life make sure you can discuss and dissect the song you choose and have good argument because if it doesn’t it makes all the writing you have to do a lot harder.
Kelly Burke
"Stole" by Kelly Rowland
The song I chose as my DIS was not the original song I had in mind. I first wanted to choose the song “Sooner or Later” because I felt so comfortable explaining the lyrics and I really enjoyed the song. I couldn’t write about that song because the first time I had heard the song was very brief and I didn’t think I would have enough information to write about. I then picked the song “Landslide” by Fleet WoodMac because it meant a lot to me and I was in a very funny situation when I had first heard the song. When the second paper was assigned I realized that I was going to have major difficulty with the song and I immediately changed it. After looking through my songs on my ipod I saw the song “Stole”, by Kelly Rowland. I thought it was a depressing song, but I thought it had an important message that I would be able to talk about in many different papers. So I finally ended up with “Stole” as my desert island song.
Now that the semester is over and knowing what I know now, I would still stand by my choice of picking the song “Stole”. I faced a couple obstacles in the process of choosing my DIS, but I would not have it any other way, because in the end I was able to confidently write numerous papers on the song. “Stole” is a very touching song and if you actually pay attention to the lyrics you can see how inspirational and moving it is.
The essay that I liked best doing was the narrative essay. I felt so comfortable writing the paper because it was my story to tell. I liked how I was able to express my opinions and share a personal experience that means a lot to me. The first time I heard “Landslide” was one of my most memorable experiences. It was one night that I shared with my ex-boyfriend that I will never forget. Being able to write about that experience brought back a lot of fond memories and good times. I also liked that I didn’t have to cite anyone else’s work, because everything I wrote came from me.
I would recommend to anyone starting EN101 that they start working on their papers way in advance before the due date. You never know when unexpected things come up that could potentially get in the way of you writing a good paper on time. If you start working on your papers early you will have enough time to do sufficient research and be able to ask your teachers any questions that come up during the paper writing process. I also recommend that you attend every class, be on time, and keep an organized binder. If email posting is part of the class homework, I would suggest that you post every weekend and read as many emails as you can that your other classmates posted.

Song: Discovering the Waterfront
Artist: Silverstein
My Journey through the Unknown Sea
I decided to pick “Discovering the Waterfront” as my DIS because it was a song I could always relate too. I always use it in assignments time and time again because I never really run out of things to write about . Sure my essays always seem to be a bit repetitive at times but that’s only because I haven’t had the time to sit and really write about this song. It’s a great song and I think anyone can see themselves experience what the character in the song is went through at some point in their lives.
Looking back on all I had to write about this whole semester, I wouldn’t have picked any other song but this one. I think if I had I would of run out of stuff to write about long ago. I remember at the beginning of the semester how much thought I had put into choosing the right song, it had to be a song that I could dissect again and again without ruining its meaning to me in the end. I couldn’t stop but wondering, “what if by the end of this semester I would never want to listen to this song again. But I do and I still very much like the song so all is well I suppose.
I think my favorite essay throughout this whole semester had to be the cause/effect essay. Mainly because it was the one essay where I finally understood what I was writing about all the other times I felt a little lost. Which was to my own fault since I never sought help. But this essay seemed to flow more naturally. I didn’t have to stress over what to write about so much. But as always grammar and sentence structure was an issue.
I think some good advice for the next student who comes along is ……if you have Prof. DiFabio’s class then …POST!!! I can’t stress that enough do not make the same mistakes I made and wait till the last moment. Also always check sentence structure, awkward sentences love to creep up on you so try to look out for them. Also don’t forget about grammar, commas can at times be your best friend in a paper and last but not least try to take EN101 only once in your life not over 3 times.

My Journey
I decided to pick Lose Yourself by Eminem as my desert island song. Eminem has been one of my favorite artists for a long time. I have always enjoyed listen to what he has to say, whether it is something controversial, political or just making fun of society. I felt that Lose yourself was something new from Eminem. The lyrics are profound and can be very inspirational to some people. The main idea of the song was to always take a chance, and when an opportunity arrives take it. This can be very motivational to some people if they are experiencing new things in their life or if they are afraid to take chances. What I also loved about this song was its beat. The beat is so energetic and Eminem’s lyrical flow matches it. I still listen to this song even though it came out about five years ago. This song will pass the test of time and become one of the best songs ever recorded.
Now that the semester is over, I still stand by my choice. I still would not change my song from what I know now. I’ve now seen this song from a deeper perspective so I understand it more. I’ve also memorize more of the lyrics from hearing the song over and over.
The essay that I liked the best was the documented essay. I liked this essay because I was able to research more of Eminems lyrics. Studying his lyrics is very interesting because they are all different from each other. Eminems lyrics are funny and controversial and they make you think about the problems in society.
A good piece of advice to new students in EN 101 would be to make sure they pick a song that has some sort of meaning. They should not just pick a song they recently heard on the radio or in the club because there might not be sufficient info to research on. Also, pick a song whose lyrics are in a way profound and mean something.
Jonathan Durgam
"Butterflies & Hurricanes" by MUSE
I decided to pick “Butterflies & Hurricanes” by the band Muse as my DIS because it reminded of the times I heard this song and how I felt at the time. This song gave me energy and motivation to do the right thing. Whenever I felt lazy this song would change that and give me a positive attitude to do work. The music and the instruments used, the guitar, the drums and the grand piano played a big role as to why I choose this song as my DIS. Muse is one of my favorite bands, their music excites me and it is very energizing. The reason as to why I choose this song as my DIS is because of the band, music and how this song made me feel.
Now that the semester is over I do not stand by my choice of song because of its popularity. I would definitely change my DIS know that it is not a very popular song. The song “Butterflies & Hurricanes” by Muse does not have a lot of recognition; therefore I could not get good sources for my documented essay. This song was easy to analyze but it was very difficult to find print sources for the documented essay. During my research for the documented essay I had a hard time finding non online sources, because of the bands popularity.
The narrative essay was the best because I could write it in first person story format. This essay allowed me to express my feelings about the song and how I felt on the first time I heard the song. The compare and contrast essay would be my second best essay because I also had to write about a different song. The cause/effect essay was a good essay to write because it mostly related back to my narrative essay and was also in first person. I did not like writing the analysis essay because I felt that I had over analyzed the song and it was no longer a good song to listen to. The essay that I least enjoyed writing was the documented essay because I was not able to find good sources to get information for the paper.
My advice to other students starting EN101 would be choose a song that is very popular and well know. I also advice you to listen to the song before you write about it and that you are able to come up with things that you like about the song. I advise you to not choose your favorite song because listening to the song multiple times and writing about the song and over analyzing the song will ruin it; the song will no longer be your favorite song. Choose a song from a band that is well know by the media so that you can get as much information as possible for your documented essay.
Christian Ramos Where The Love Last Forever
The way i decided to choose my song was really simple. I've heard the song over 10,000 which most people would consider crazy or a loser. But it really touches me. The way I did this was by listening to it while i sleep. I knew this song like the back of my hand.
Now that the semester is over i dont stand by my choice. I would change my song that would have allowed me to write five essays about it. A song that would be deeper. The reason being is because the song was really straight forward and repetative.
The one essay I like the best would be the analysis because it allowed me to really pay attention to the lyrics and understand what the writer might have tried to say.
A good piece of advice I would give to other students just starting EN101 would be think about the essay your going to write a week before you actually start typing.
