for Pat Cravath, Badfish by Sublime
Wow Pat i didnt know that about your life or song.At first when i saw this song choice i had mixed opinions. When you saw your post about the meaning behind your song, I had a very different perspective.
For everyone else in the class, i had a great time with yall and i wish everyone luck in the future!

“Kissing in Cars” by Pierce the Veil
Bummer... I feel your pain on that one. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for you to continue to write about that song despite all the turmoil. but you got through it and I bet your stronger for it.
For Steve, "Simple Man"
Who was the artist of your song? Sorry that you didn't really get much out of writing about it, but good advice to new students!
For Pearlie, "Wake Me Up Inside"
I agree with you a hnudred percent on the advice that you gave for future writing students. You should always write from the heart, that way you're sure to always put your best effort into it.
I can't remember what essay it was exactly, but I think it was the compare and contrast essay that we peer-edited for each other. During our peer-editing session we talked about the groups and songs we liked and we both found out that this song was something that we both had in common. What I didn't find out though was why you actually chose that song. Reading your blog I see that at the time you didn't even really know why you chose the song other than the fact that you liked it so much. So now that the semester is coming to an end I just have one question. Why did you choose this song? I asked you that during our session, but I think that now you will have a better understanding as to why you like the song so much and why you chose it.
Overall I think your a great writer who has an amazing voice on paper! Keep up the good work! And to all my other classmates, I think that all of you are also awesome writers and that this class just helped us all to realize our full potential when it comes to writing. It's been a pleasure and loads of fun tackling our music themed writing class with our WONDERFUL PROFESSOR Mrs. DiFabio! Enjoy your winter break!

it was great working on the same song with you!!! good luck with all of your work! breaks coming soon!!!
for Katherine Ryan, "Priase you in this Storm" by Casting Crowns
Reading about your journy though EN101 was a journy in itself! Just the amount of thought and reasoning you gave behind your DIS choice was remarkable. I also wish very much that I had your advice going into EN101.
I agree with Steve that all it took was hearing my the song once to decide my DIS.Whenever Professor Di Fabio told us that we has to write 5 essays on one song I think that we all freaked out a little bit.
for Maria Butler, Praise You in this Storm by Casting Crowns
The first time I heard this song was in our English class and I immediately fell in love with it. I think this song is very inspirational and it was a great choice.
For Sara Burns
“Kissing in Cars” by Pierce the Veil
I'm sorry about your loss! It sucks that you had to continue writing about her after ending the relationship. It's a good song choice though.
For Raheem, "Ghetto Gospel"
This is a really great song. I enjoy both Elton John and Tupac. The combination of the two is awesome and I think that there collabortion makes this song great. I'm glad that this song had meaning to you.
Katie, you were very helpful this semester. We chose the same song and like it for different reasons. It is amazing how songs have the capacity to effect us in different ways yet unite us in a common message.

I can definitely relate to what you went through. Well not the part about having to write all these essays based on a song that used to make you happy. I can relate to the part of you being in a relationship where everything is perfect and right in the middle of the semester everything starts going wrong. It definitely makes assignments harder to complete and I have been there with the whole "im-so-stressed-that-its-making-me-sick-literally". Its the worst feeling in the world, or so you think at the time. Once the semester is over though, you realize that another chapter justed closed and a new one is getting ready to open. So I commend you for making it through the semester and sticking it out and hopefully writing all your papers in the process. When you do find the one, you'll know for sure and there won't be a mid-semester break-up, there will just be nothing but love and support. Good Luck with everything!

“I Wish You Were Here” –Incubus
You're right when you said, everyone has felt that feeling, one time or another in their lives. This song could be one of the songs that you can attach a sentimental value to. Great job for choosing this one.
for:Steve: Simple Man by Lynard Skynard
this song is really good i could see why you choose it as your dis it can be inspiring as well as just a good song to listen to good choice
for Latrece Hargrove,
“Lean on Me” by Kirk Franklin
First of all I am really sorry for what happened with your mom and I'm glad to hear things are a little better now. I have been going through some obstacles myself and I agree that who better to turn to than GOD. He is the only one that can make things better and your song is wonderful way to express that. I love Kirk Franklin and the way he ministers through his music. I also believe you are absolutly write about your advice. Writing from the heart is very essential and had I done that from the begining of the semester I probably would have recieved a better grade on prior essays.
Ahmed Gahelrasoul
Song: “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor
I am not familiar with the song you chose. But I think your advice for the email posts is really good. Had I done that I would not have fallen behind at the end of the semester.
Alan Rodas, Lose Yourself by Eminem
I have always liked Eminem myself. I can definitely see how you could have enjoyed analyzing his lyrics.
for Eddie, Wish You Were Here by Incubus
Coincidentally, I was just discussing this song with one of my friends. I think you picked a great song for your Desert Island Song. Looking back on the essays, it's easy to see just how well your song could fit with each of them, except for, just as you said, the Documented Essay. I think alot of us struggled with them because the bands a lot of chose fell into a weird time period. All too often, bands were too new to be published in books and such, but were too old to be really published on the internet. I know this was really the case with my band, Sublime.
I agree with your advice though. I think if I had just chosen a random song of the top of my head, this class would have been agony. If you pick a song your truly consider your DIS, then frankly, this class is a 100 times easier. I could just imagine having to write 5 essays on a "flavor of the week" song.
To Marion Rice
It must have been so nice to write about a song that brought back such wonderful memories and took you back to the days when you fell in-love. It probably made writing the papers really easy and enjoyable, right?
The cause and effect essay was my least favorite to write, I think its because I felt like I was re-writing my narrative but it seems like you enjoyed it. The advice you gave to others is pefect! They say "the good life is inspired by love and guided by knowledge"!
Take care.

For Ally Babay,"She Will Be Loved" Maroon 5.
I really enjoy this song as well and understand what you mean about getting mixed emotions when you hear this particular song. I am shocked you didn't get a tired of it after writing all the papers. Your advice for future EN 101 students was the same as mine!
for chris, Yesterday's feelsings
this is a good song, I actually have the album this song is on. But yeah I have to agree, picking the wrong song can hurt your chances with the essays.
for Ally Babay,
"She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5
I completely agree with your piece of advice for students starting EN101. I did the same mistakes, I felt like I wasted a lot of time trying to correct my grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. Instead I should have used that time to get my ideas together and write whatever came to my mind as an outline.
for Zanna "lonely" by Britney Spears
I find it interesting that any of her music has a message. I don't like Britney and thought all her music was lame and without any message. I think it's cool that you get so much from her music. I have really enjoyed having my eyes opened to new music. Also hearing how music that I don't like has such a deep meaning to someone else. This has made me rethink a lot of my dislikes in music.

for Katherine Ryan and Maria Butler. Praise You In The Storm by Castong Crowns.
I love yalls song choice and the reasons behind it. It is a truly inspirational song for all of those who are in a tough point in their life.
for Pearlie, Bring Me to Life by Evanescence
I completely agree with your choice of song. It's a powerful song that is kind of hard to get sick of. When I saw your post about the meaning of the song, I couldn't help but tell you good job on the song choice and to keep on listening to Evanescense.
